MS in Global Finance

Established in 2007, the Master of Science in Global Finance Program (MSGF) is a collaborative initiative between the HKUST Business School and the NYU Stern School of Business. Over the years, the MSGF program has been dedicated to delivering exceptional learning experiences for executives with a passion for global finance, establishing itself as a global leader in finance education.

The MSGF program boasts a world-class faculty composed of distinguished professors from both business schools. This collaboration unites renowned scholars from the East and West, providing invaluable industry insights and research perspectives from a truly global standpoint.

Structured as a one-year modular program, the MSGF was designed for working professionals. It consists of six in-person, onsite modules, with the first five lasting an average of seven days each and the final module lasting two days. Students remain engaged with the program in between in-person modules by completing pre- and post-module work asynchronously and remotely. The first module begins in November, with subsequent modules taking place in January, March, June, August and November of the following year.

Our comprehensive curriculum empowers participants to grasp the global implications of financial issues in today’s markets while deepening their understanding of financial concepts and instruments.

Classes take place in Hong Kong, New York, and Shanghai, fostering an immersive learning experience that offers sought-after market insights and real-time perspectives on the Asia Pacific and US markets as well as the world’s largest economies. The entire cohort attends the classes together, fostering a collaborative environment that enhances financial acumen and uncovers new possibilities.
